Let Me Go (So you don’t have to)

IMG_20160402_213409I don’t want to dream of eradication

The fluid calm of medication

In the dreams of life that was a happily ever after.

Let me go or take me into your life as I am

A long lost dream of an uncomplicated man

Who wanted to be a hero but fell hard.

I’m on a road of the lost, wanting desperately to be found

By myself, by my dreams that lay on the ground

Behind me.

Do you love me when the wind blows south

When the mountains block the view of everything you hold dear

Can you feel me let go of the fear and doubt

So you will love me more and draw me near.

If you want to be with me, with my complications

A passion that I temper with all that is in with me.

To share the road of rediscovery of the pieces dropped

But ones I did not forget that made me happy.

If you can love me, while I’m dancing in the snow

By myself in the dark, with no one around

On the pier of the waters that in their blackness sorrow flows

And the love of silence that my solitude brings

So when I choose you to sing me a song

It rings in memory that whispers in my ear

In your absence.

Is this feeling everlasting, is it in your heart forever.

Can you know what it is to see that I love you with my soul

I’m working to be whole

To be the man I want to be, without a million holes

Making new dreams as I go

Accept me as I am, broken and alive, making a new life

Letting you fly and breathing softly just to lift your flight

But letting you be free

So you can be you

And I can be me.

I’ve held you on a pedestal and adored you at your feet

Forgetting who I was each night I fell asleep

To stand on my own and know that I was me

Picking up those dreams that I thought were lost to me.

And knowing the strong and driven man

That I was meant to be.
